Second Food Festival in Lutsk: Amateur Chiefs and World Cuisines
Organisers of «Lutsk Food Fest. Picnic» promise to let every Lutsk citizen and visitor present their culinary skills and fix all previous lapses during this festival taking place in Lutsk Castle on June 28-29.
This was the topic of the press conference held on June 15 devoted to «Lutsk Food Fest. Picnic» gastronomic festival.
Serhii Karpiuk, the head of the organisational committee, told that they are trying fix all the failures they found out about during the first festival on May 2-3. The festival will present different restaurants, cafe, food manufacturers which will surprise visitors with menu specialities. The number of participants increases to 25, and they are going to show Ukrainian, Bulgarian, Hungarian, German cuisines. Besides, there will be an extended children's area as the previous time kids had nothing to do during the festival. Because of the complaints about the lack of seats and entrance line organisers fix all lapses with involving volunteers.
Festival novelty is the startup area for culinary enthusiasts where everyone can present his works (regardless of whether he is a businessman or has financial recourses for promotion). Anyone who has culinary skills will be able to join the startup area. Works will be judged by the taste, the cost of ingredients, the speed of service and ingenuity. Application taking remains open.
An interactive charity event where funds for Ukrainian soldiers will be gathered is going to be held. Volyn journalists and politicians will sell their own made meals as part of the charity event.
Festival will bring “Music kitchen” as well. Andrii Kulykov will be the host of the event.
Participants of the music event should be announced next week. For now, we know that Serhii Martyniuk, the leader of Lutsk band “Fiolet”, will perform on the stage. Organisers promise friendly atmosphere and good weather during the food fest.
Lutsk state enterprise “Ukrspyrt” is going to make the presentation of its new brand “Nasha derzhava”.
Oleksii Veremiichyk, the head of Lutsk Youth and Family affairs department, said that festival would be improved. A lot of different events will take place on June 28-29 during Constitution Day and Youth Day which make the city attractive to both its citizens and visitors.
Taras Skorypskyi, ™ “Dmytruk” brand manager and the head of the marketing department, admitted that the commercial part was not the most important for participants. It is not just about food selling but the whole range of preparation starting with the aesthetic look of the meal, excellent service and chill out areas location. He emphasises that the most of participants and organisers agree that the primary purpose of the event is the development of food consumption culture and clear distinction between restaurant and street food.
The main goal is not a good attendance on the first day of the festival but the same attendance on the next day. Entrance charge will increase to UAH15 as entertainment show needs funds. Earnings will help to purchase furniture and other equipment for future festivals.
